The Touken High Courts are a group of five nations in the northern provinces that display a highly rigid social structure where the highest ranks are held by Spirits. The culture displayed here is slightly different from the rest of Solumaros as humans, instead of subjugating or consuming spirits for their powers, are considered lower then spirits and are subjugated to them. Humans are the lowest in order of social classes and even the highest of Humans are considered worse than the lowest of spirits.

The five nations are split evenly, starting from their Capitol City, The Central Court and extend outward, with no regards to landmarks or geography, stretching to their respective borders. This leaves some of the sections smaller than the others as they reach the coast. All of the sections are controlled by a Judge, each of whom is represented by a color.

  • Pratr, Fool of the Fates, Judge of the Green Court
  • 'Ji'lagap, Guardian of the Blank Scroll, Judge of the Blue Court.
  • Sedame, The Twins, Judge of the Yellow Court.
  • Nyto, the Celestial Flower, Judge of the White Court.
  • Vihalor, Hand of Torment, Judge of the Red Court.

The people of each Court are not allowed into another nations court, under penalty of death. Even the Central court is Divided by Colors in section, each judge only allowed to be present in their own section of the Heavenly Courtroom (The exact center of the Central Court.)

There is a ranking system to the Courts, Spirits residing on top, with humans scattered amongst the lower ranks as it decends.

  • Judges – Highest Rank. Only spirits may be part of this rank officially, but this stretches to include the houses of the Judges as well, i.e. servants, stewards, honor guard, etc.
  • Prefects – Rulers of the rings stretching outward from the center, treated as cities. The further you are from the center, the less important you are. Spirits hold this rank for the closest rings, humans may hold outer ring positions.
  • Raijun – Warrior class, mostly Spirits. Some humans may have been taken by a spirit, given a set of armor to bond with the Human and take control.
  • Sichen – Bureaucrats, lawmakers, nobility. About Half human/Spirit mix.
  • Haigun – merchants, craftsmen, skilled labor. Mostly Human, only class allowed to mix colors, as needed, to trade for commodities.
  • Folsein – Sefs, slaves, indentured servants. All human, excepting Spirit prisoners.

The idea of bonding or pacting with a human is Repulsive to most spirits, viewing humans as lesser being. However, if a human gains favor, the spirit may chose him to gift some of his power to, or even, in cases of highest favor, use the human as a vessel to increase their power. But the human is most always lsot to this as the spirit takes control immediately.
