The Stonemason is vaguely humanoid in appearance, at least most of the time. His form varies wildly, and can occasionally change on a whim, but always takes the form of a piece of living artwork. He has taken the form of everything from a marble statue to a two-dimensional human figure straight out of an oil painting. He's even taken on forms based off non-visual art, such as a humanoid figure composed entirely of interlocking words. He usually keeps the same form for the entirety of his visits, but occasionally changes within the blink of an eye.

His name is derived from his most common form, and that is of a staute composed of various kinds of stone, the various materials of his form changing every second. One minute his arm is made of marble, the next, granite. His eyes however, are always the same; they are always piercing green eyes of jade, and whatever material the rest of him is composed of at any moment, those eyes always remain. It is this form that is most common, and those who have sen him in it report that he seems more natural in it, suggesting that this is his most comfortable form. His voice is crisp and clear, but with a touch of impatience to his voice, as The Stonemason is always eager to return to his current project and views ruling Otticia as a distraction, if a distraction he takes pride in.

His power centers around creating life within objects. He is able to imbue an object with a portion of his power, and that object from that point on acts like it were alive in every way The Stonemason wants it to. The level of intelligence can range from pet to human levels and has been seen at both ends of the scale. His ability also has a more violent side to it. If he so chooses he can forcibly rip some power from another spirit and put it into an object instead of his own, empowering the object with the spirit's powers in addition to its new "life." The Stonemason can remove the power from any of his creations whenever he wishes, drawing the power back into him. He mostly uses this ability to create golems that fight for him, but is willing to sell these golems to other archons if they so desire, those they themselves must imbue the golems with spirits, which kills the spirit instead of merely harming it, so the process is less efficient.

While the Craftfather's primary concerns are artistic in nature, he has been able to use his designs to assist the [[First Faloran Empire]] and the Dominion after it in fantastical ways. His most famous inventions are the [[Golems]].
The Stonemason created his daughter the Maiden by imbuing a part of the Spirit Realm itself with life and a portion of his own power, creating his first, perfect daughter. He regarded her with pride, as he had managed to not only create a new spirit, a rarity, but that his first attempt had created such a beautiful entity as Azarath. He was sporud of his creation that he never wished to see her leave, and so cut away the link they shared, letting Azarath use the power she had een given without fear that it would be removed. Wanting to replicate his success, he turned to the objects of the Material Realm, intending to create a new daughter out of material rock and metal.

While Ashthinker believes that knowledge is dangerous and must be safeguarded, the Craftfather has no such qualms when knowledge can be used to create beauty or to inspire.
And so repeated the process, imbuing his new daughter The Quartz Mistress with another great portion of his power, and again, he was so proud of what he had done that he seperated the link they shared. Wanting to show her off, he brought her to the Material Realm's inhabitants, to see their reactions. They either recoiled in fear or reacted with indifferance, unlike when they had seen Azarath. Seeing everyone's reactions, he tossed The Quartz Mistress aside like a piece of failed artwork and paid no mind to her.

Then, he witnessed as the fued between the Mistess and the Maiden reached a boiling point, where the Mistress forced the Maiden to take an enchanted spike onto her own face, permenantly marring his creation. The Maiden, because of her nature and the spike, became disfigured. Ashamed at his now imperfect creation, he sent her away, not being able to see her face. Angry at the Quartz Mistress for marring his perfect creation, he sent her away to the City of Silence, where she would never be able to leave without incurring his wrath. Furious, he returned to Otticia and began obsessively creating new forms, trying desperately to recreate Azarath but unable to, every body created "impure" in some way. Otticia is littered with his failed projects, memorials to his failure that only serve to increase his anger.

The Craftfather - known also as the Stonemason - is one of the great Archons of the Dominion. His domain is Otticia.

According to legend, when the Falorans conquered Yed Shama, the site of the future Holy City, they uncovered a trove of relics which defied their faith and doctrine. While there were those who wished them destroyed, there were many who argued that these creations of great beauty should be marvelled at - but never used.

In the end, their safekeeping was entrusted to a spirit who would then become the Craftfather. Once Otticia had fallen, the Craftfather was assigned to administer it. He set about reshaping Ottician society into a work of art unto itself, becoming a paragon of music, creativity and awe.

While the Craftfather's primary concerns are artistic in nature, he has been able to use his designs to assist the First Faloran Empire and the Dominion after it in fantastical ways. His most famous inventions are the Golems.

During any open conflict in the Empire or Dominion, the Craftfather has always found himself at odds with the Burning Man, Ashthinker. While Ashthinker believes that knowledge is dangerous and must be safeguarded, the Craftfather has no such qualms when knowledge can be used to create beauty or to inspire.
